Privacy at Chronocook

Your cooking data stays yours.

Chronocook is designed as a local-first cooking application. This policy explains what stays on your device, what is processed when you use an AI-generated import link, and the choices available to you.

1. Local-first application data

Your Cookbook, recipes, plans, Cookline schedule, Market List, cooking progress, preferences, and settings are stored in your browser profile on your device. Chronocook does not require an account and does not routinely transmit this local cooking data to Chronocook servers.

Backups and restores are initiated by you. A backup remains under your control unless you choose to send, upload, or store it somewhere else.

2. AI-generated meal-plan links

When an authorized AI integration creates a Chronocook meal-plan link, the newly generated package is sent to Chronocook’s import relay. It may contain the requested plan name, recipes, ingredients, instructions, meal times, servings, and preferences reflected in the generated plan.

The package is stored temporarily with Cloudflare so that you can open and review it. Your existing local Chronocook database, Cookbook, settings, history, and Market List are not uploaded as part of this process.

3. Temporary links and retention

Each generated import link contains a high-entropy access token. Anyone who possesses the link may be able to view its generated package until it expires or is deleted, so treat the link as private and avoid posting it publicly.

  • Generated packages expire automatically after 24 hours.
  • A successful local import requests early deletion of the temporary package.
  • If early deletion cannot complete, the 24-hour expiration still applies.
  • The import is additive and requires your confirmation in Chronocook.

4. Request and security information

When the import relay is used, Cloudflare and Chronocook may process ordinary request metadata such as an IP address, request time, route, response status, and technical browser or network information. This information is used to operate the service, enforce rate limits, diagnose failures, and protect users and infrastructure from abuse.

Chronocook does not intentionally include complete import tokens, generated recipe content, or local application databases in application logs. Cloudflare may process infrastructure information under its own terms and privacy practices.

5. Service provider

Chronocook uses Cloudflare to deliver the website, run the secured import relay, apply rate limits, temporarily store generated packages, and provide aggregate website measurement. Processing may occur in locations where Cloudflare operates its network. Cloudflare acts under its own contractual, security, and privacy commitments.

6. Generated cooking information

AI-generated recipes and plans can contain mistakes. They are not medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional food-safety advice. Before importing or cooking, review allergens, dietary restrictions, ingredients, quantities, storage guidance, cooking temperatures, doneness, and appliance instructions. If a dietary or medical decision matters, consult an appropriately qualified professional.

7. Website measurement

Chronocook uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and performance, including page views, referral information, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, and page-load timing. This measurement helps identify reliability problems and improve the experience.

The Cloudflare measurement beacon does not use cookies or local storage for this purpose and is not used by Chronocook to build advertising profiles. Cloudflare may receive ordinary network information while delivering the site and processes measurement information under its own privacy practices.

Separately, the Chronocook application uses browser storage for your local app data, theme preference, offline operation, and related functionality. Clearing the site’s browser data may remove local Chronocook information.

8. Your choices

  • You can use the local application without creating an account.
  • You can decline an AI-generated plan without importing it.
  • You can delete local Chronocook data through your browser or Chronocook controls.
  • You can export a portable backup before clearing or moving your local data.
  • You can allow an unused import link to expire automatically.

9. Children’s privacy

Chronocook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts because Chronocook does not provide user accounts. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a generated import package, contact us so the report can be investigated.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Chronocook’s features or service providers change. The latest version will remain available at this URL, with the effective and updated dates shown above.
